Sustainable Ballard’s Giving Sunday is on August 11th!

It’s time for our second annual Giving Sunday at Ballard Commons Park(kitty corner from the Ballard Library) next Sunday August 11th from 10am -1pm. This year we’re pleased to once again host some wonderful non-profits including: Ballard Food Bank, Books to Prisoners, Seattle Area Feline Rescue, and Seattle Dogs Homeless Program. Each of these organizations offer support to our community all year long and could use a boost of supplies during Summer. So please check your pantry, closets, bookshelves, garages and more for items you can donate. Then bring them to Commons Park on Sunday August 11th.

Additionally, Sustainable Ballard projects are also collecting needed items. Our Ballard Knitters for the Homeless will be accepting donations of yarn, needles, crochet hooks, patterns, knitting books and notions. Free Letters Home project will be accepting postage stamps and money to purchase postage. Ballard Tool Library will be accepting items from it’s Wish List.

This is a wonderful opportunity to clean out some of the items gathering in your homes/businesses and pass them on to those who need them most. When we care for our entire community we all benefit from a strong, compassionate, and healthy place to live, work & play! See you in Commons Park Sunday August 11th! If you are unable to attend but still wish to help please contact Rain or visit the links of the community orgs above for more details on how to contribute where needed most.
