Part-time Volunteer Job Description: Event Team Member

In this position you will help strategize, organize, and produce events. A successful event helps us create exposure for Sustainable Ballard activities and projects and it may have a fundraising component. A successful event would also support member loyalty and prospective member engagement. Our target audience includes individuals, families, businesses, and allied non-profits in Ballard.
Our goal is to produce one successful event each month. The time commitment expected for each event will vary and you will share the responsibility with a team. Be involved event-by-event or on an on-going basis. We need both.
Essential functions of the Team

Creativity: Develop fundraising event ideas (monthly) in cooperation with Board and team.

Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with service vendors, volunteers, event sponsors.

Marketing: Make the event irresistible. ID target markets, plan media and promotion.

Communications: Stay in touch with team and update board liaison regularly about proposed events and planned event status.

Budgeting: Develop and work within an approved budget.

Evaluation: Report to Board liaison on success of each event.
Core strengths may include
Background in, aptitude, or just enjoyment of event production. Motivated self-starter. Initiative. Collaboration. Creativity. Communication skills. Marketing. Logistics.
Additional skills and abilities

Use collaborative organizing tools such as Google docs and similar.

Attention to detail without losing sight of the big picture.
