Over Half a Million Stitches in One Month!

In December alone our tiny but mighty group created 60 hats, 13 scarves and two pairs of gloves.  Rough calculations figured that represents over half a million stitches in just one month!  583,950 to be exact!

Impressively, (drum roll here) in 2024 SBK donated a total of 238 hats, 48 scarves and 3 pairs of gloves which represents a conservative estimate of 2,148,480 stitches.  That’s a lot of talent, commitment and caring made manifest. There is beauty and warmth on the streets of Seattle because of you!

Reporting we have one volunteer who joined SBK in January of 2020. By March, SBK stopped meeting as a group. Jody, thank you Norwegian blood, sat on her porch and shared tips for new knitter at six  feet apart. In January of 2024, said knitter just finished her 60th SBK scarf. Thank you teacher Jody and to all teachers everywhere. You make the world go round.
