“Change Is Our Choice” Discussion Group to form — interested?
For twenty-five years, Northwest Earth Institute has helped people turn belief into action by creating communities of change. It starts with a discussion group … a group of 8-12 people who share stories about the way they live, work, create and consume.
“Action on the environment comes from thinking about it — it comes from real conversations about real facts, our real lives, our real hopes. Northwest Earth Institute is one of those places that make those conversations happen, and that’s why they’re a vital part of the change we need to see.”
~ Bill McKibben, founder, 350.org
This spring, Sustainable Ballard is putting together a group to read and discuss “Change Is Our Choice: Creating Climate Solutions”.
What’s it about? The science has long been settled: climate change is real and it’s happening all around us right now. This five-session discussion course on climate action will help you take action to increase resilience and mitigate the impacts of climate change. Presented in an interactive ebook, this new discussion course experience integrates video, audio and printed content with action plans that help you roll your sleeves up and get started taking action toward a better tomorrow.
Interested in learning more? Check out the NWEI website. If you think you might want to join us this spring (likely April and May), email Margaret and let her know. We will schedule an organizing meeting before the course begins. There are five sessions in the course. The group will decide if they will meet once each week, or meet every other week.
