Ballard Sprouts — Volunteer Positions are now FULL!
Ballard Sprouts is a neighborhood greenhouse project that starts seeds in February and donates the small plants in April and May to the Seattle Giving Gardens. Giving Gardens grow the plants and donate the harvested food to the Seattle Food Banks. Sprouts volunteers (12-15 people) donate an hour of their time each week from February to May to plant seeds, transplant seedlings, fertilize and harden off the plants. Ballard Sprouts distributes over 10,000 plants each year.
