Help NW Seattle become a Certified Community Wildlife Habitat
Join us in helping Groundswell NW put Ballard on the map as a Community Wildlife Habitat
Do you have:
- Food (3 sources)
- Water (1 source)
- Cover (2 sources)
- Places to Raise Young (2 sources)
- Sustainable Practices (2 sources)
If so, you’ve met all of the requirements to certify your apartment balcony, backyard, schoolyard or business as a welcoming haven for local wildlife!
Now what? Here are two easy ways to certify your wildlife habitat with the National Wildlife Federation and help Groundswell NW meet the goal to certify 300 homes, 5 schools and 7 open spaces as NW Seattle Community Habitat:
1. Download this Washington State form, fill it out, print and mail along with a check for $25 to:
National Wildlife Federation
P.O. Box 1583
Merrifield, VA 22116-1583
If you apply via this form, you will receive a yearly membership with NWF, ensure a portion of your donation goes to State of Washington programs, AND receive a free yard sign! This option is the best bang for your buck.
2. Register and certify online for $20. This option will give you all the same NWF benefits as option 1, but does not guarantee any funds will go to Washington State, AND you have to purchase a yard sign separately if you want one.
