Edible Garden Tour Springing to Life

Our scouts are in full swing, looking for gardens in northwest Ballard for this year’s Edible Garden Tour! What does a scout do? Getting in lots of steps, they walk every street and alleyway to spot any signs of gardens. What do gardens look like at this time of year? They’re often bare in early spring, but we look for signs of raised beds and perennial plants: 

This Raised Bed is empty Now, but might be full by Summer!
Overwintered Kale starts blossoming in the Spring. It’s a good sign that this Garden had Edible plants last year.
Perennial plants such as Blueberries and Raspberries look bare this time of year but will bear fruit in the Summer
