End of Summer Golden Gardens Party and Bonfire!

Come down and help us celebrate another beautiful if too short a summer... Saturday, September 4th, 6:00PM at Golden Gardens beach. S'mores provided! Hang out with good people! Watch a sunset! Bring a dish to share, your plate, cup and utensils, something to sit on, something to keep warm, wood if you have it, a friend or family! Look for SB's yellow flags on the beach! For questions, info, and to volunteer to help, email Orna.

10-10-10 Global Work Party Day! and Ballard Community Festival

This year, Sustainable Ballard has decided to shift from its traditional Fall Sustainability Festival in favor of a special event that will combine our celebration of sustainability in the community with the global work party events organized by 350.org, designed to call attention to climate change.
Think rally, 'green' work parties throughout the community, and a big community party to celebrate what we've done!
MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR SUNDAY, 10-10-2010!
And join us on Thursday, Aug 19th, 2010, 6:30PM at St. Luke's to brainstorm ideas and plan this special event. Bring your ideas for local work projects and organizations that may want to sponsor a project.

Looking for Your Good Story

What? We are looking for short (500 words or less!), personal stories about how you or someone you know living or working in Ballard have taken a step toward a more sustainable lifestyle.

Why? We would like to share these stories with the Ballard community to inspire people to take similar steps and to demonstrate how our community is transitioning toward sustainability. We will collect your stories in a “story bank” in our website, which people will be able to peruse for inspiration, and from which we will draw stories to share in other ways too.

How? Check out the Sustainability Stories page for more details on how to go about sharing your story. It's easy!
