The General Idea
- DATE & TIME: October 1, 2006, 11-5
- VENUE: Ballard Commons, NW 57th Ave & 22nd St. NW
- PURPOSE:
Get people out of the notion that SB is about hair shirts and denial, it's about quality of life, fun, community; we're not mostly "deep pocket eco-warriors" but we have a big tent. Move Fair away from all about gadgets, stuff. Be more diverse. Not all businesses and things to buy. New MF people moving into Ballard - what can we do to satisfy their interest in community, activities, make music, theatre, gardening. Balance between gadgets and community culture. Demonstrate how fun, easy and cheap taking steps toward sustainability can be. Make community connections and get neighbors involved in SB. Educate.
Warm Festival greetings and solidarity from Governor Gregoire
