Ready to grow backyard veggies in your own raised beds? Brad Halm of the Seattle Urban Farm Company will discuss the benefits of using raised beds for growing food and how to build them yourself. Topics covered include raised bed design, material selection, food-safe wood preservatives, and how to safely select and use salvaged materials for construction.

Brad got his start growing food in college in a small vegetable garden at The Homestead, an experiential living center at Denison University. He then apprenticed on organic farms in Ohio, and managed Village Acres Farm in Pennsylvania before moving to Seattle where he has been helping people build and care for their urban farms ever since.

Price: $10 (includes discount to the store) Questions or pre-register - brayh@re-store.org More info @ www.re-store.org
