The Sustainable Ballard Festival is a community fair and the culmination of all of our hard work - a showcase for the activities and initiatives our neighbors have engaged in throughout the year. The 2012 Festival will feature live music, how-to workshops, fun & educational activities, local and sustainable businesses and much more! Outdoor Classrooms
Visit one of two stages for free food demos and classes on green home improvements, organic gardening, money-saving conservation tips and more!!
Music and Dance
This year's solar-powered (Thanks Sunergy Systems!) mainstage features an eclectic mix of folksy music and exotic dance.

Green transportation abounds! Check out walking, biking and busing options. View a selection of electric cars. Learn about Ballard's new Bike Share program.
Food and Gardening
Test your knowledge of local food with our Food Season bean bag toss and Name That Vegetable; and check out the map of farms and ranches within 150 miles of Ballard. Visit the chickens and goats in the Urban Barnyard, hosted by Seattle Farm Co-op. Share what you know and learn what you don't about growing your own in the Sustainable Gardening Zone. Play Good Bug, Bad Bug.
Green Home Center
See what you can do in each room of your house! Useful displays, demos and how-to tips on home energy. Lighting, appliances, furnishings, water and energy conservation.
Action and Advocacy
Get involved! Learn about local campaigns that affect national policies and national initiatives that will affect us locally.
Health and Well-Being
Explore new ideas for healthy living. Learn how to protect yourself and your family from toxins in the environment. Join a free yoga or movement class offered by local practitioners.
Green Kids
Each area includes fun for kids, plus we'll have a special kid's tent just for storytelling and puppetry. Yay!
