Fremont Arts Council 2011 Feast of the Winter Solstice In Ballard! (see below for important pre-event info)

If you have never had a chance to participate and experience this amazing event, or haven't in a while, this is the year.

Fremont Arts Council has a marvelous and huge space this year in Ballard that will accommodate a larger event and lots of artworks and installations. There will be feasting, toasting, dancing and revelry of all sorts. Live music, the lovely Tea House, sanctuary, artworks everywhere. Dress in your favorite Solstice finery or costume and see all the lovely faces in the candle light!

--Invitations and Tickets--two ways to get into the event this year.

  1. Volunteers receive an *Invitation* to enter free of charge. Volunteers are asked to help build and decorate for some hours in the days before Solstice, and/or do night-of jobs. Many hands ensures the event flows easy, is fun for all, and is well cared for. Limited to 200. Please go to Volunteer Registration: myfremont.org if you want to be part of the Feast Crew.
  2. Buy a *Ticket* for $25.00. FAC is doing this for the first time this year to simplify attendance for some and lower everyone's stress at this busy time of year. Some people have time to work on the event, some don't, but everyone can relax and contribute in whatever way is best for them. (One Ticket = One Admittance) No tickets sold at the door day-of event so plan ahead. Brownpapertickets.com

--Food and Feasting
The richness of the Feast comes from all our contributions. Surprise us all with something amazing to eat! Everyone whether registered to volunteer or with ticket brings delicious gifts for the feast table to share with the community. We break bread at 7:00 PM.

--Next Day
Since they will be walking on air, participants are asked to help a little if possible with clean up the next day (22nd) 9am-5pm. This is a volunteer-run event by and for artists AND anyone who appreciates artists in the community.
